Founded in 1847 around Daingerfield Station (now the Backlick Road VRE station), Springfield was a site of great strategic importance during the Civil War as well as the home of the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Depression. Springfield is a suburban community that offers many choices in housing and entertainment for its residents. With everything from condos to townhomes to single-family homes, it’s the perfect place that offers the feeling of small-town life while being close enough to lots of entertainment, dining and shopping.
Parks that offer everything from fishing, hiking, and boating are the perfect setting for outdoor enthusiasts. Away from the great outdoors, the area offers a variety of places for shopping, dining and entertainment. Commuting is made easy via access to most major commuting routes and interstates, the Virginia Railway Express or the bus.
